She occassionally throws up as well. I haven't noticed anything wrong with her poop or her appetite.

It could be a few differnt things, you can't know until you get her checked out. Hyperthyroidism %26amp; diabetes would both cause poor coat and weight loss,or as other answer says, could be worms %26amp; poor nutrition. In any case, it is cruel to let her go like that, and, depending on what is wrong with her, if you let it go longer it could end up more expensive, or end up being too late.

Please at least ask your vet about some kind of payment plan. Several years ago I had a lot of vet bills and my vet let me post date a bunch of checks and pay monthly until it was paid off. In fact a couple months they waited when I asked and didn't deposit it.

There is a place called Care Credit that you can apply for credit for medical bills including vet bills.

If they won't accept your application, there are also some other orgs - -one is called IMOM - -. that will pay for vet care if you are able to show that you are low income. They may or may not have the ability to take on your case but if not they may refer you to someone else.

If nothing else works you could always hock your computer. It's not a living being that suffers. Your cat is.

Please do check with these possibilities and get your cat to the vet! If you are a kid you will need to get your folks to apply for the aid. Good luck.

P.S. Please don't feed the kitty dry food. It can lead to health problems down the road. It is way too high in carbs, and cats don't drink enough water to make up for a diet with so little moisture. If they drink a lot of water it usually means they are sick. http://www.catinfo.org for info from a great vet for cat nutrition. Since you can't afford a high quality canned food, Friskies cans is better than feeding dry. Look for meat as the main ingredient and avoid grains. If you really really want dry, at least get one without corn or wheat.

get a new cat. vet bills cost more than a cat.

There could be a number of different things going on, but without a vet looking at her it's hard to say. There are many different reasons for your cat being underweight %26amp; loosing hair. When you do bring her in to the vet, be prepared for suggestions like bloodwork or skin scrapings depending what the vet finds on examination. Good luck! :)

I'm a kitty lover and I have two a boy and a girl, the girl is on the skinny side but the boy is on the healthy side, they both loose their hair (every were). Do you take your kitty a bath? If you do make sure to blow dry her fur and come it with a pet brush to get more of the loose hair off her. If you don't bathe her groom her.

As far as her eating habits it all depends on the food you give her. Is it dry food, canned, table food etc. If she's eating it she obviously likes it, keep giving it to her and try to add some of the other foods I mentioned to her diet, that way she will gain a little weight, limit the table food to a small portion you don't want an unhealthy kitty.

If she is throwing up, it could be a hairball that's what kitties do, it looks nasty but hey they are always grooming themselves. It kind of sounds scary when they do it.

They also sell pet vitamins at the pet store as well as the other retail stores, if you want to keep her healthy until you take her in to the Vet, this is what I suggest. Good luck fellow kitty lover. :)

Added Note: All Vet offices work with you if you are unable to pay right away. Most visits cost like $30-$50 bucks, for their first dewormer and a check up. Cats are a lot cheaper than dogs. Trust me I know. Just call them and ask, they will work with you.

the cat needs a good worm and the best food you can afford. Worm it NOW and if it throws up in another couple of days. Get a good wormer from your vet and also some kitten quality food as it is higher in fat. Dry food, not the cheap supermarket cans and dry.
