How often do you colour your hair or how many times have you coloured it?

When you constantly colour your hair it loses its bounce and vigour, it gets brittle and scanty for some, then why keep changing its colour when you know that you will have a harder time keeping up with your mane?

I have coloured it a few times in my life to look good, but just want to post this on the forum so you guys can share with me the reasons and how you manage to deal with the aftermath of colouring your hair...

i colored mine every 4 months last year before i realised that all that coloring will ruin my hair:( and yes my hair has lost it's texture:(... its very rough and dry now... no longer straight and shiny like it used to be... so i don't color it anymore ... all i can do now is wait for it all to grow out.

I coloured my hair once a month and yes the hair does get brittles etc etc. But I don't colour my hair myself. I'll also do it at one of the top hairdresser in my city and after every colour, I'll immediately have threatments to minimize any damage to my hair and after colouring, i'll still go for threatment to maintain a healthy hair. So no matter how many times i colour my hair, I never encountered such problems. But yes, it is expensive to maintain but I have to do it every month cos my white hair are showing. Hope this helps.

I dont apply any colour or chemical on my hair!!

Um... well i color my hair every 5 months and so far my hair is fine... my hair is no different then it was before (lol except for the color) But i no that has happened to many of my friends..... idk my hair just stayed as silky as it was b4

i have never dyed my hair at all. but ti used to be blond when i was a child but as i grew up it became brown and i am fine with that and i will keep it that way and do not want to risk doing something wrong or causing the loss of my hair.

I have colored mine so so many times....I got my gays coming in when I was 24...Now I'm 40 .....I have to color mine every 3 months...But I buy mine in a box...I don't do salons.....You have to find the rigt shampoo and conditioner for it...Took me awhile but I settled on Fruitcis
