LADIES - Have you ever lost a bunch of HAIR? What caused it?

Please explain how or what caused your hair to fall out and how you would avoid it in the future. Thanks

LADIES - Have you ever lost a bunch of HAIR? What caused it?

No, I haven't myself but my sister did and it can be because of stress, your shampoo, the temperature of water- don't wash you hair with very hot water. I amount of heat styling you do or just in your family. But there are many ways you can resolve it:

- change you shampoo every month

-Wash you hair with warm or cold water.

-minimise heat styling and products

- Rub oil in your hair every fortnight- I suggest almond, coconut or olive...

I hope this helps!

LADIES - Have you ever lost a bunch of HAIR? What caused it?

yes- it was b/c of stress

LADIES - Have you ever lost a bunch of HAIR? What caused it?

my hair tends to fall out when i wash it too much or when im too stressed out

LADIES - Have you ever lost a bunch of HAIR? What caused it?

sometimes peoples hair falls out when they dont have enough protien, which is why your hair falls out when your anorexic. but, mine just falls out sometimes randomly, and i have no idea why

LADIES - Have you ever lost a bunch of HAIR? What caused it?

I still do loose my hair but not as much as i use to and that is because I was told that if you us a lot of different hair products that can cause hair lose or if you us hair sraghting irons that can also cause it.what i would do is stop using so many products and take hair vataminsto strenghen it.

LADIES - Have you ever lost a bunch of HAIR? What caused it?

Also, pulling your hair back tight can lead to increased hair loss.

LADIES - Have you ever lost a bunch of HAIR? What caused it?

i lost hair because i pulled it back to many time

LADIES - Have you ever lost a bunch of HAIR? What caused it?

no but this girl in my gym class's did

it made me laugh

LADIES - Have you ever lost a bunch of HAIR? What caused it?

My (first) wife lost a couple of hanks of hair prior to our wedding. It was diagnosed as alopecia areata. It was caused by stress. However, i dont know how to rid your life of stress :) I dont remember if she had to use a cream, but it wasnt a life threatening problem, just hard for a young lady to handle. Good luck and see a doctor.

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

I am a law student and I have seen attorneys with long hair. I believe the style or look one posses is irrelevant to how one practices his trade, craft, or profession. However, I do believe there are many unspoken words and I would like to know if upon becoming an attorney I should lose the long hair (it resembles like Depp's hair in Blow) which is at shoulder length. I'm asking an honest opinion from those who are in the legal field.

Thank you

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

As you will soon find out, appearances will matter in the legal profession. If you are going to become a sole practitioner, then the way you wear your hair is up to you. However, if you are looking to join a firm, then you have to "fit the part".

I have encountered some male lawyers with long hair and even some with unconventional hairstyles. They are either pegged as "eccentric lawyers" or they are respected practitioners within their area of law. In both cases, the Bar seems to tolerate them.

At the end of the day, you have to go with what you feel is best in your circumstances. Law school and the practice of law in general are tough enough (I know from personal experience). Just as long as your hair is clean and neat, you make the call.

Best of luck in law school!

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

i dont know any thing about law but i do know hair. if you like it and it looks good on you than keep it. if you feel it will interfer with your chances of being a lawyer then cutt it.

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

I might not hire you as my lawyer but I would be willing to pay for "other services" if more than your hair looks like Johnny Depp!!!

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

I would not hire you as an attorney but I would get high with you.

Maybe that is your problem???

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

sadly, people just see your apperance first. you cant see personality and skills. i hate to say that the general view of long haired guys isnt terrific for a professional job. my honest opinion is to cut it. its too bad that people assume things without actually getting to know the person. good luck!

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

Unfortunately-- yes. To lot of conservative people it is unprofessional. Good luck in school.

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

In my opinion..no..Long hair looks nice as long as it is clean and combed. And if you are a professional looking dresser you'll definitely be stylin(isn't that the correct word)(Do they still say that?) HAHA

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

Unfortunately, most people still judge you on how you look (first impressions). My boyfriend ran into the same problem. For whatever reason, older people still associate long hair on men with juevenile delinquents. I think you'll be more successful in the law business, and command more respect, with a short hair cut (I'm so sorry - I LOVE long hair on guys).

Once you're established, grow it back (like that crazy guy on CNN who wears the cowboy hat and fringe jacket).

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

Some may frown on your hair length, But I never put stock on looks alone.

It all boils down to how well your credentials speak for you.

Like the old addge says. one can never judge a book by its cover.

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

I'm not in the legal field but I worked at a law school for a few years and the "clean cut" ones more often got the better jobs and/or were hired sooner. Sad to say the professional legal environment is so closed-minded as a rule.

Part of your consideration should be where you want to locate. Northeast urban would be more open to nice long hair than, say, Houston, TX, or any smaller city or community.

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

Personally I think as long as a professional looks neat and tidy I am happy, long hair is OK so long as it is clean and say in a pony tail and not all straggly.

However some people may prefer to see a clean cut young person and be put off by long hair.

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

I think clients would not take you seriously.

The image of a lawyer is someone serious and powerful and long hair diminish this image.

When I was in Law School some guys got crazy looks and long hairs but when they started to practice, g.bye to this looks.

In legal world everything is appearence, you sell to your clients the image: your car, your haircut, your suit. If they see a lawyer with this stuff, with a good image of serious lawyer and nice stuff they think: hey, this must be a great lawyer and he must win lot of cases because of the things he owns.

Short hair gives you a serious image.

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

Assuming you will practice in front of a jury, then your image will lend 'credibility' and either help or hinder your ability to prosecute or defend..

If you look like Depp, then a jury likely won't take you seriously, and your ability to 'win them over' will be hampered, especially if you face a lawyer who looks like what the vast majority expect.. Perception is reality.. those who look the part, are expected to be the part.. those who have hair that's longer than the guy they are defending, a jury will assume guilt by association..

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

I'm not in the legal field, but my opinion on this is that...I think that some people will look "down" on you with the long hair, I wouldn't!! But..people are so weird these days...you being in the legal field I think that you should have you hair cut short. Lost of Luck to you...

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

One of my best friends in law school had long hair that he kept in a pony tail or down on his shoulders when he trimmed it. He graduated at the very top of our class and was hired by one of the largest International firm in the country. We were all waiting to see whether he'd cut his hair. Well, he hasn't. He's been there 7 years now and he is very liked at his firm. He represents some very large corporations. I believe that some people may have said something to him, but considering how smart and hard-working he is, no one cared much. It's only hair, he is very articulate and professional. Now, I don't know whether you can make yourself invaluable and whether that's what saved him, and whether had he been average, he might have been asked to get a haircut. And I am waiting to see whether they'll make him partner or suggest he cut his hair first. You don't have to be too concerned about unspoken words. It's not like keeping your hair long is a constitutionally protected right. They'll let you know if they want you to cut it.

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

what style. what color. do you take care of it. or is it always messy. think of that. and why does your avatar have short hair??

Does my long hair hinder my public image as a professional lawyer?

yes.

Do dreads damage your hair?

I'm thinking about getting dreads, but i have no idea how they "work" really. Are you not losing a lot of hair if doing this?? and i'm scared that if i wont look good, i'll have to cut my hair :

Do dreads damage your hair?

|No

Do dreads damage your hair?

I don't think they look good, they always look dirty to me.

Do dreads damage your hair?

Yeah. If you brush it you'll lose pieces of hair.

Do dreads damage your hair?

yesss they willl....

Do dreads damage your hair?

i wouldn't do it if i were you.

it looks dirty, haha.

Do dreads damage your hair?

you hve to hve the right type of hair

if your white its risky! its normally only for black people as the hair is thick and more dense so isnt as easy to damage.

i wouldnt recommend it

and besides its for a religion - rastafarihian -

Do dreads damage your hair?

well, they dont damage your hair...but they will if :

1.)you get them often..

thats is about it..also,if your not african american it is a waste of money because you cant wash your hair without messing them up..

%26amp; sometimes they dont look good.,

i wouldnt recomend getting them

(because they hurt when you get them done %26amp; they are a pain to take out!)

but if you want to get them do be my guest

good luck!

:)

Do dreads damage your hair?

Dreadlocks are a statement of your agreement with Rastafari. However they do look cool.

Do dreads damage your hair?

yup for sure. from wat i know you have to cut off your hair when you dont want them no more

Do dreads damage your hair?

yes they damage hair

Do dreads damage your hair?

dreads really really damage your hair. do you know how to get dreads?? how you get them is not washing your hair for a long time!!! if i were you i wouldnt!!!!!!

Do dreads damage your hair?

yeah, you will have to cut your hair off when you're sick of them. i mean, you can't just brush them out. i think they are more trouble to take care of than they seem to be. i think they look pretty cool though!!!

Do dreads damage your hair?

it will damage your hair extensively so think very carefully before you do this, if you are going on holiday or something like that it might be a good idea but don't keep them in for longer than two weeks

Do dreads damage your hair?

When you don't want dreads you have to just cut them off, wich means cutting all your hair off, or as much as is dreaded

Do dreads damage your hair?

they will look nice but if u want them out u must cut them of

I'm a hair stylist so i no

Do dreads damage your hair?

AS FOR THE PEOPLE SAYING THAT YOU HAVE TO SHAVE YOUR HEAD WHEN YOU DONT WANT THEM, THAT IS A FALSE STATEMENT!! JUST READ ON!!! ALSO ANYONE CAN DO IT, ITS NOT JUST FOR RELIGION!!!!

DONT LISTEN TO WHAT ALOT OF THESE PEOPLE ARE SAYING, ALOT OF IT IS A MYTH! I WENT AND CHECKED OUT A WEBSITE MYSELF AND LOCATED THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION!!!!

There are alot of myths that people say of dreadlocks!! MEANING THAT THEY ARE WRONG!! Alot of the ones listed below may be positive or negative in any affect but just read along and you'll maybe change your mind or go on with it! Whatever happens just go with what you think and what you like. Express yourself. We dont need to tell you what looks good and what doesnt!

HERE ARE SOME MYTHS:

*All dreadlocks are dirty.*

Dreadlocks are only dirty if you don't take care of them and wash them. Not washing dreadlocks is the best way to ruin dreadlocks. You should wash your dreadlocks at least once a week.

*You can't wash dreadlocks.*

Not washing dreadlocks is the best way to ruin dreadlocks. You should wash your dreadlocks at least once a week.

*Anyone with dreadlocks is dirty.*

Not true!! Dreadlocks need to be washed at least once a week.

*Not combing your hair is the only way/best way to make dreadlocks.*

This is called the Neglect method, this is how cavemen made dreadlocks, by just not doing anything to their hair. Thank the Lord we have found new ways to make them because this method take at least a year and the hair doesn't even look like dreads during the time, and many people who have made dreads this way have ended up with such severe dandruff cases they had to cut their dreadlocks off and start over, usually with the backcombing method.

*Wax is not a natural dreadlocking product.*

Wax is probably the most natural product you can use on dreadlocks. It comes from bees that are from nature.

*Backcombing is not natural.*

Backcombing is just about the most natural way to make dreadlocks. Anyone who tells you this doesn't know much about dreadlocks.

*Only black people can have dreadlocks.*

Obviously the person who told you this has never see anyone who is Asian, Indian, or Caucasian with dreadlocks. Dreadlocks actually look very nice on Asian, Indian, and Caucasian. Many people believe that dreadlocks actually were first wore by the Asian Indians that crossed over from Asia and Europe to Alaska and Canada. Dreadlocks were also wore during Biblical times by John the Baptist and Samson. Dreadlocks were also worn in the 1400-1500's by Asian Emperor's.

*Nice dreadlocks are high maintenance.*

Most dreadlocks are not high maintenance. The only kinds of dreadlocks that are high maintenance are dreadlocks made from dread perms. Dreadlocks made with the backcombing, twist and rip, twist and pin, neglect, and brush rubbing methods are not high maintenance at all.

*The neglect method is the only way to make natural dreadlocks.*

Not true at all. There are many other methods that are natural, such as Backcombing, Twist and Rip, Twist and Pin, Twisting, Dread Braiding, and Brush Rubbing.

*Rubberbands break the hair.*

False. Rubberbands hold the hair together while the dreadlocks are forming to keep the dreadlocks from falling out. So many people and so many sites wouldn't recommend them if they didn't do such a great job.

*Dreadlocks damage your scalp.*

Dreadlocks do not damage your scalp. In fact your scalp never even knows you have dreadlocks, because the hair starts to dread about an inch away from the scalp.

*You have to shave your head when you don't want dreadlocks anymore.*

False statement. You don't even have to cut your hair when you want to take the dreadlocks out. Here are the ways to take dreadlocks out:

1. You can cut or shave your head if you don't care about your hair, this is the

fastest way to remove the dreadlocks.

2. Cut the deadlocks until they are about 3 inches long and then soak the rest of

the dreadlocks in VO5 conditioner and comb them out. This will leave you

with about 4 or 5 inches of hair.

3. You love your hair and want to keep it. Just soak the dreadlocks in VO5

conditioner and comb them out, it may take a couple hours but you will get to

keep your hair. Don't worry if you lose a lot of hair while you are combing

the dreadlocks out, this is hair that would have fallen out in the day-to-day hair

removal cycle. The only reason you still have it is because you had dreadlocks

and dreadlocks keep the hair all knotted together.

*Mayonnaise, Honey, Toothpaste, Glue, Rubber Cement, Mud, Chewing Gum, Peanut Butter, Shea Butter, Candle Wax and Hair Gel all work great for starting dreadlocks.*

Yea, if you want your dreadlocks to fall out, and want to suffer from nasty bacteria and mold growing in your hair. These products are not used or recommended for one reason, they don't work. They were not made for dreadlocks, and there is no reason to try to make them work, if your going to make dreadlocks do it right, get some DreadHead wax and shampoo follow the instructions and you will have great dreads.

*Any products that mention or say for dreadlocks will work on dreadlocks.8

False. Most products that say for dreadlocks usually aren't they are suposed to be used to condition African hair. If the product contains any petroleum then it is your dreadlocks worst enemy.

*Dreadlocks are for rastas only.*

It is a common misconseption that dreadlocks were started by Rastas and only Rastas should wear them. It is common knowledge that cavemen wore dreadlocks, not for spiritual reasons, not for fashion, just for the fact that the comb wasn't invented yet. It is ok for you to wear dreadlocks if you are wearing them for fashion, and it is ok for you to wear dreadlocks if you are doing it for spiritual reasons, hey, whatever works for you.

Do dreads damage your hair?

My son has had dreads and washed them all the time with no problems, so yes, you can have clean dreads. They do look good if your prepared for the up keep of them. They don't suit everyone, but I like them and I'd give it a go if I were you and you really wanted them.

Do dreads damage your hair?

yes they do u get dry head they look dirty and u can get a rash from them

Do dreads damage your hair?

I would think it would.

Do dreads damage your hair?

I've had dreadlocks for 6 years and just recently cut them off. I miss them like crazy. Anyway, you should go to dreadheadhq.com and learn how to make dreadlocks, and buy their soap (or buy some type of soap thats phosphate and sulfate free). It takes over a year for them to look like real dreadlocks, but its worth it. Just be careful not to make them too big-- Mine were really big and heavy and so when I cut them off, my hair was pretty damaged. But it gets better with time, my hair is growing back and is smoothish now. Oh, and dreadlocks, I believe, are less dirty than regular hair because you don't have chemicals piling up on your scalp. Just wash them once or twice per week and wring them out thoroughly so they don't get smelly.

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

you mean hare

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

No, they lose their hair when their owner is very ugly. Hope that helps.

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

if their very unhappy maybe... take it to vet.. skin disorder

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

Well ive lost my hair and im a jolly sort of bloke...

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

No they probably loose their Hare!

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

no.

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

yes my rabbit was "depressed" and lost big tufts of his hair

if you're worried take him/her to the vets. Hope this helps, and hope your bunny gets better soon

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

if they are bored they could sit there and pull it out or if they are female they use it as nesting material to prepare for the possibility of having babies this is a seasonal thing so youd find the fur lining the bedding. if it is boredom then they will have bare sore patches on their skin. if this is the case LET THEM RUN IN THE GARDEN! i hate it when rabbits are kept in shoe box sized rabbit hutches with unable to even stand up properly lettalone run around id be pullin my hair out too! fresh vegetables and fruit to keep them healthy and lots of things to keep them occupied mine like logs to chew on and small plastic flower pots too pick up and throw around. if it is a nesting doe she most likely will be a little...hormonal? lol and wont like you going near her bed for a little while so id leave it unless it gets soiled or damp hope this helps =]

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

Give us some more details about the hair loss.

-If there is a bald spot, there's a problem and you should probably go to the vet. If it's a girl who is not spayed, she could be having a false pregnancy (spay her, it will make your life and hers so much better!). Or there could be a skin condition.

-If the hair is coming out in tufts all over like a golden retriever, then first make sure the rabbit is in a room that is no warmer than 76 degrees farenheit. If the room is the right temp, then the rabbit could just be shedding. Rabbits shed every three months-- two lights shed and two heavy sheds a year. If your rabbit is shedding, you want to make sure you are helping remove the hair in whatever way your rabbit likes-- light brushing, petting, etc. Rabbits cannot vomit and thus hairballs become life-threatening. Make sure your rabbit is getting plenty of high-quality hay, this will help move the hair through by decreasing the time it takes for it to move through the rabbit's system.

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

Are you talking about clumps of hair where the skin is showing, or just shedding a lot? Rabbits shed year round, but especially in the spring and fall.

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

no when rabbits are unhappy there ears go down.

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

i dont think so but it could be a skin complaint or it could be makeing a nest is it a female anyway the vet is the best person to talk to

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

No!

There could be several reasons why a rabbits lose their fur.

Here is a website with very good information on fur loss in rabbits.

http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/furloss.ht...

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

If it is pulling its belly hair out this is due to a false pregnancy, other than that get a vet to check her over

Try the following site

www.thebrc.org

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

theres a few options... rabbits normally lose there hair when they are pregnant .. so if its a girl that could be a posablity, maybe it has been to hot so it is " taking some layers off" or maybe its even too cold .. it would pull its fur out to make a nest to keep it warm if you are still worried take it to the vets =] x

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

hiya are they female cos they rip out their own hair when pregnant?

When rabbits unhappy do they lose there hair?

Possibly if they're bored or lonely. They might pull it out through sheer boredom. They need company and loads of things to do and play with to occupy their minds, like all animals.

Hairstlye for curly hair??

Hi i have curly hair and ive been losing lots of it over the past years coz i kept trying to straighten it and now parts od the head look like bald. I dont like always tying it back tightly and want to leave it free so theres no tension on the strands ....

what is the best hairstlye for this??...and how do i make the hair grow back to as thick as it was before?? please help

Hairstlye for curly hair??

try http://www.curlyhair.com

Hairstlye for curly hair??

hey try this one, i love it and i have curly hair aswellhttp://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?medi...

Hairstlye for curly hair??

For the growth, one of the best products I know is Nioxin. They have different lines of shampoos, conditioners, scalp treatments, etc. and it works for a lot of people to regrow bald spots.

Use a leave in conditioner, such as Healthy Hair SoyTri-Wheat Leave in Conditioner to prevent further damage to the hair that is stressed from all of the straightening.

As for the style, try product line like Catwalk Curls Rock while your hair is still wet, and scrunch it every now and then while you let it air dry. See how your hair dries naturally, or use a diffuser to add extra volume and definition. After that, you can find lots of fun things to do with it!:)

Hairstlye for curly hair??

Question: how / what are you using to straighten your hair?

I have naturally curly hair (not the nice photo shoot curly, more wavy %26amp; frizzy) and I use the Farouk Chi iron %26amp; the iron guard spray and swear by it.. no problems w/thinning or falling out.

As far as curly styles I usually scrunch it and let it flow (diffuser works great for more oomph)

Hairstlye for curly hair??

stop straightening it, curly hair is beautiful ,you could try just tying the front bits up or clipping it up , I have had hair loss due to illness anaemia causes you to lose hair check your iron levels and eat lots of really good food, apparantly hair is the best indicator of your health, you could try massaging your scalp, and there are good products for hair loss, shampoos etc, hormone inbalance can also make your hair thin , get a health check, eating nuts is a good tip, brazils etc good luck

Kinky hair and hair wash?

I've got kinky hair and it can be really tough to comb after washing even when i've conditioned it,using leave-in conditioers make my hair too light, have split ends and untidy.so what do i do,how often can i wash my hair and still have it alright.moreso if i wash it out so much it becomes a problem when i'm getting it straight.can i wash it weekly and get it straight without losing all my hair to burns?

Kinky hair and hair wash?

yOU NEED TO CUT YOUR ENDS...KEEP IT MOISTERIZED, AND WASH IT ONCE A WEEEK WASHING IT TOO MUCH CAN DRY IT OUT..KEEP IT COMBED FROM ROOTS TO ENDS AND DONT PUT TOO MUCH HEAT ON IT...DONT USE LEAVE IN CONDITIONER IT JUST HURTS THE HAIR

Kinky hair and hair wash?

I have the same kind of hair and I was weekly. I comb it while it is still wet too. I flat iron my hair when I want to trim the ends. I would never flat iron my hair weekly. When I do, I let it last for two weeks before I wash/condition do it again. I did burn my scalp last time, so be careful!

Kinky hair and hair wash?

Use a WIDE toothed comb and comb it while wet.

Try a detangling brush right out of the shower like the Denman brush.. it would glide through my afro like butter when i had an afro.

In the mean time- condition only your ends- halfway down at the most, add a bit of baking soda to your shampoo (shake it up each time) as this will dry the hair causing glandular activity which MAY promote hair renewal and growth. Get your vitamins- at least a multi. And blow dry your hair upside down with volumizing products especially a mousse. Gel is your enemy.

Hair loss treatments

About one third of men will be affected by baldness or thinning scalp hair. Some women will also be affected. In the future, there will be effective drug therapies to stimulate hair regrowth. However, these are not yet available. For the present, surgical treatment involving hair transplant is available from some specialist dermatologists.

Why hair loss occurs

Hair is in a constant cycle of growth, rest and renewal - it is natural to lose some hair each day. The main causes of permanent hair loss are genetic and hormonal. Male hormones probably cause baldness. However, other hormones may contribute to hair loss in women. This can often be corrected with medication. Other factors that can increase hair loss include:

Stress

Scalp disorders

Diet

Drug use - for example, cigarettes and alcohol

Some medical conditions.

Gradual thinning on top of the head is a normal part of ageing. However, unless it is a part of male pattern baldness, it should not result in baldness.

Hair transplantation

Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure for the treatment of hair loss that first became popular in the 1950s. Originally, large plugs of hair were used, which sometimes led to unsatisfactory and unnatural results. Nowadays, very small mini and micro-plugs of skin, containing one to five hairs, are used. Unlike the original large plugs, this modern technique does not produce very thick or dense hair growth. However, it does appear more natural and, in many cases, is undetectable as a transplant. The most natural appearance is achieved from single follicle (one hair) grafts.

When is hair transplantation helpful?

Types of hair loss that respond best to hair transplantation include:

Male pattern baldness - which is inherited from either side of the family. This is the most common type of baldness that can be helped by hair transplantation.

Hair loss due to accidents and operations.

How hair transplantation is carried out

The hair plugs are taken from the back or sides of the scalp where the hair will never fall out. The plugs are transferred to the bald areas and are placed in such a way that they receive adequate blood flow during the healing process. The transplant session may take several hours. One to three months later, more grafts can be added. Several treatments are required to give a progressive increase in the amount of hair. Hair will regrow in the area from which the hair plug was taken for transplantation.

Is it painful?

A sedative is usually given prior to the procedure. Local anaesthetic is also used at the hair removal (donor) and recipient sites. As the anaesthetic wears off, you may notice some discomfort. This can be eased with simple analgesics (pain medications).

Possible complications

Possible complications include:

Infection - this can occur because the skin needs to be broken to perform the procedure. It can be treated with antibiotics.

Bleeding - this is usually controlled through careful post-operative care.

Scarring - approximately 11 per cent of the population have a tendency to scar.

Temporary, operation-induced hair loss - known as effluvium, this can occur with hair transplantation as well as some other operations. It occurs in approximately five per cent of patients.

Unacceptable cosmetic results.

Nausea and hiccups.

Scarring and unacceptable cosmetic results are more common when hair transplants are carried out by inexperienced practitioners.

Speak to a dermatologist about hair transplantation

Many hair clinics offer this treatment. However, specialist dermatologists are best qualified to properly advise about this surgery, as they generally have the most knowledge about hair in health and disease.

Other hair loss treatments

Other treatments for hair loss include:

Scalp reduction - a surgical procedure designed to reduce the amount of bald scalp. The edges of remaining skin are tightly pulled together in an effort to reduce the surface area of the bald patch. More than one treatment is required. However, this procedure is far less common than other treatments, due to problems such as scarring, which can be extensive.

Laser treatment - can be used to treat hair loss. However, there is major controversy among dermatologists about whether or not it is safe.

Non-permanent treatments - like artificial hair and hair additions.

Stimulative treatments - like topical solutions, massage and electromagnetic or electrostatic (low intensity laser) treatments. These produce only minor improvements, but may be helpful when used in conjunction with other treatments.

Artificial hair - for example, hair made of synthetic material. Each fibre has a loop at the end of it, which is used to anchor the hair under the scalp. This technique produces more hair instantly. However, synthetic fibres do not grow and will eventually fall out, usually within 18 months.

Things to remember

Permanent hair loss is caused by genetic and hormonal factors.

Today, hair transplantation can result in a more natural look than it did previously.

Hair transplantation is most effective for male pattern baldness.

Herbal Hair Loss Remedies That Offer Hope

Article by: Richard Mitchell

Herbs hold an obvious appeal for many people because they support the body's natural healing mechanisms to target the cause of the problem, as opposed to merely tackling the symptoms. It would be wrong to present herbal hair loss remedies as a miracle solution for all sufferers 閳?there is however growing evidence to support the view that some herbal remedies offer real hope to many people.

Let's examine the case for some of the more popular remedies to determine if they're worth trying.

Ginkgo biloba: This popular herb is thought to improve blood circulation to the brain and skin. Herbalists believe that the increased flow of blood to the brain area delivers more nutrients to the hair follicles thus promoting hair regrowth. The recommended dose is 120-160mg of dry extract each day spread over three doses.

Green tea (Camellia sinesis): It is thought that catechins found in green tea may inhibit the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase that converts testosterone into hair-unfriendly DHT. It is therefore believed to be effective in preventing and treating male pattern type baldness. You should drink several cups of green tea each day or take it in capsule form as instructed by the manufacturer.

He Shou Wu (Polygonum multiflorum): Also known as Fo-Ti, this Chinese herb has traditionally been used to reduce hair loss. It is found in many commercial preparations, or in tea and capsule form.

Pygeum (Pygeum africanum): Derived from the bark of an evergreen, it works in a similar way to green tea. It is widely used to treat prostate problems and male pattern baldness. Users should take 60-500mg per day in pill or capsule form.

Saw palmetto (Seranoa repens): This is the current treatment of choice for many men due to its ability to protect the prostate, slow hair loss and encourage hair regrowth. It forms the core element of many commercially prepared hair loss treatments but can easily be obtained in its pure form. The recommended dose is a 160mg capsule twice each day, but make sure the ingredients are made from the berry extract not the dried berries themselves.

Stinging nettle (Urtica diocia): This has long been favored as a means of preventing hair loss due to its ability to block the conversion of testosterone into DHT. It can be taken in pill or capsule form with an optimum dose of 50-100mg per day. It is particularly effective when combined with pygeum and saw palmetto.

Good hair straightener at a good price?

I recently lost my conair hair straightener. Before I go and buy the same product, I was wondering if there are any other good hair straighteners at a decent price?

Good hair straightener at a good price?

I use wet2dry hair straightener I bought it for 30 dollars at Ulta. I love it, it does exactly what I need to do and it heats up in 60 seconds! If you don't want to spend 30 dollars try shopping around at Target or Walmart.

Good hair straightener at a good price?

i just saw some a kohls i almost got one but then decided not too.

it was only ten dollars!

it was by Conair.

you can also go to ulta.

they have a TON of stuff like that or Target!

Good hair straightener at a good price?

Look at target or target.com, i was just on there to check and they had some really good looking ones (make sure they are ceramic so they dont fry your hair) under 15 bucks. I got mine from there, and i am so happy i did!!! Hope it helps

Good hair straightener at a good price?

the best straightener is the Remington Wet 2 Straight Straightener which you can get for about $25-30....

I have had mine since they came out so for about 2 years, I love it so much, It takes me about 20 minutes to straighten my hair, which is thick and long!!!

Good hair straightener at a good price?

Chi is the best Conair omg dont get me started its a waste of money all though chi is pricey

Good hair straightener at a good price?

CHI and u can get one on ebay. just make sure they are an authorized seller of chi products. i got a 2in one for around 70. i lOvE it

Good hair straightener at a good price?

DO not waste your money on the cheap ones ...anything less than $40 doesn't work as well. Spend a little more and it will work better. I spent $125.00 (it was a xmas present) on the one for my daughter, her hair is very thick and very long and she only has to go over it ONCE with the straightener. it's awesome ...

Good hair straightener at a good price?

CHI is one of the best straightners but they are expensive. Wet2Dry are good but are $25-$30 depending on the store. I have a Vidal Sasson ceramic it was only like $17 it works awesome, my sister has a Revelon hers straightens better but it fries my hair and hers was $20

Good hair straightener at a good price?

I have dyed my hair and now i'm losing very much hair. Any natural ways to stop hair loss?

I'm desperate!

What can i do in order to stop hair loss?

Everyone loses between 40 %26amp; 120 strands a day, depending on how much hair you have, your age %26amp; your hair's growth cycle. People with fine hair tend to have more of it %26amp; therefore will lose more of it than their thicker-haired sisters %26amp; brothers. Your hair also thins as you get older, particularly after menopause for women, but the thinning will stop %26amp; not continue as it will for men.

Here are some factors to take into consideration for common hairloss:

1. Seasonality. You'll lose the most hair in the fall -- typically November and December when hair reaches maturity in its growth cycle.

2. Diet. Hair loss can occur through poor dieting, tight ponytails, even with age.

3. Pregnancy Some women experience hair loss with pregnancy or as part of post-pregnancy hormonal changes. Other women experience hair loss when going on or off (usually off) the birth control pill.

4. Illness Sometimes it happens as a result of illness. Even stress, excessive weight loss, iron deficiency %26amp; thyroid problems can cause hair loss.

If you're really worried, ask your doctor. I hope that this helps~

Dog Estrus Cycle Question, Also Hair Loss Question?

My friend's dog had puppies, and she was woundering how long after having puppies will she come back into heat? Is is 6 months from having puppies, or 6 months from her last heat still? Also her other dog had lice, and lost alot of hair, and shes been treated a few times, but the hair on her belly hasnt grown back yet, will it grow back or not? The vet didnt seem to concerned when she had her shots. Any help would be great, and ill forward her the answers as she doesnt have internet access. Thanks

Dog Estrus Cycle Question, Also Hair Loss Question?

The next heat should happen *about* 6 months after the puppies are weaned, though it may vary a bit, and this is only from my experiences. There's probably a better method of calculation, but this has always worked for me.

It is wise to skip a heat in-between litters for the mother's health.

Breeding back-to-back litters can be very bad for the momma dog. She needs time off for her body to get back into shape and things to go back to 'normal'.

As for the hair loss on the other dog, it's hard to say. I wouldn't be concerned, either. It may come back more slowly on her belly. My dogs' belly hair has always grown back after surgeries. Someone else may have more specific advice on that.

If you can, go to this link and print out these steps for your friend. They are quite informative and helpful. It'll be 22 pages, but it's invaluable information, as far as I'm concerned...

Dog Estrus Cycle Question, Also Hair Loss Question?

It is usually 6/7 months after her heat. Tell your friend not to have another litter on the next heat because it could kill the mum.

The hair wiil probably grow back but she could help it with Assissi. I don't have the web address for this so do a search on google.

Your hair needs nutrients and proper care閳?br> Do not use hair-colors indiscriminately閳?better do it occasionally閳?br> Apply coconut oil regularly... twice a week...

Wash your hair with a good mild shampoo followed by conditioner... twice a week...

Normally No but you can go for grafting.

I had very thick hair during my child hood now the thickness has gone. once a hair is lost then will hair grow

I think there are some hair procedures to help you grow back your hair. Bosley is one of them. Look up hair growth products on the internet. I'm sure there are other sources of hair growth. Good luck.

I had very thick hair during my child hood now the thickness has gone. once a hair is lost then will hair grow

no, but SOME (emphasis on the word "some") hair products will help thicken your hair. Also some surgerys can be done to thicken your hair as well.

are u Man or woman??..

hair loss issues are completely different between the sexes.

The hairs on your head are terminal, all of them, Which means they all die and fall off, and go thru a resting period...then...REGROW all over again..problems come from when hair follicles do not start up again...which can happen for many reasons .

there is a program I have developed for growing %26amp; healthy hair...its 10 steps and called "10,000HEADS-Healthy Hair Protocol"

Not if the entire follicle fell out, it's gone forever.

it will grow but takes time. for ur information humans will loose about 30 to 50 piece of hair daily.

Excessive Hair Loss - 24F?

Hello all, I am a 24 female, fairly good health, I eat healthy and excersize on a regular basis. I have noticed over the last few months that I am losing a lot of hair (hand fulls). I have very thick hair to begin with, and you cannot see that I am losing this much hair, but it's now at the point where I am having to vacuum the bathroom everytime I blowdry my hair, and have to clean the drain because I lose clumps of hair with washing. I have also noticed my once strong and beautiful nails are now yucky and brittle, breaking and cracking. I also feel sick to my stomach a lot and have a limited appetite, I am not pregnant (and yes I know for sure), does anyone have any ideas on what would be causing this hair loss? Thank you to all with serious, appropriate answers.

Excessive Hair Loss - 24F?

I colored my hair in Jan. 2007 and now I have bought Ogilive Conditioing Hair Straightener.Should I

I think/thought it'd be a good alternative from burning my hair w/ a straightener but after reading a few reviews it seems some that some people have lost a lot of hair with Ogilive.Any advice?

I colored my hair in Jan. 2007 and now I have bought Ogilive Conditioing Hair Straightener.Should I use it?

No hair straightener is 100% safe...heck, no dye is either. But the going length of time to wait generally is 3 weeks or more. Being that it's been 6 months, I'd say you're in good shape. Just follow the directions and don't be surprised if you lose more hair than usual the first few days. It's normal when using at home products for some reason. I tend to find it safer to get mine done at my salon and I have less problems that way.

I colored my hair in Jan. 2007 and now I have bought Ogilive Conditioing Hair Straightener.Should I use it?

It depends on a lot of things....Most hairstylists would straighten your hair at this point if it was healthy and good condition. Make sure that you get a trim and deep condition your hair before you do it.

Make sure that you follow the directions careful on the straightener, or you can end up damaging you hair.

This is only if you used color to do your hair, if you used anything with bleach in it DO NOT straighten your hair...It will damage and break it.

Hair lossss aahh!?

its normal to lose 50-100 hairs. If you have excessive hairfall prob, take necessary action and get rid of it.

try any of these-

Massage the scalp for 10 to 15 minutes after bathing with water. This stimulates the blood circulation and strengthens the hair follicles in the scalp.

Massage the scalp and hair with coconut milk or Aloe Vera gel. Leave it for 闄?hour, then rinse with warm water. Repeat 3 times a week.

Massage into the scalp and hair with honey and egg yolk. Leave for a 1/2 hour, then rinse.

Massage almond oil on scalp 2-3 times a day, daily. This will stop further hair loss.

Rinse hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea to help hair grow

Scrub the bald portion with onions till it becomes red. Then applying honey.

Make a shampoo by mixing 100 g each of amla (Indian goose berry), reetha, and shikakai and boil in two liters of water until the liquid reduces to half. Use this shampoo for your hair for at least one month. Your hair will become thick.

Mix equal amount of warm castor and almond oil and massage over scalp at least once a week.

Make a hair pack by mixing amla (Indian goose berry) powder with one egg. Apply it to your hair and leave for half an hour. Wash hair.

Grind lime seeds and black pepper in equal number in some water and apply on the scalp regularly.

Apply cinnamon powder before bath and keep for 15 minutes.

Apply a mixture of Aloe Vera with herbal powder triphala to the hair for a period of three to six months. It will result in growth of new hair.

Apply juice of coriander leaves on the head.

Mix soaked fenugreek seeds (Dana methi), shikakai powder, reetha powder, amla powder, dried lemon or lime peels, and two eggs, and grind to make a paste. Massage this paste onto hair and scalp and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo. This is good for making hair thick.

Boil 1 cup mustard oil with 4 tablespoon henna (mehandi used for tattoo design) leaves. Filter and bottle. Massage on the scalp regularly.

Make a paste by mixing olive oil, honey and cinnamon (dal chini) powder. Massage on the scalp and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo. Repeat it for 3-4 times a week.

Make a paste by grinding fenugreek seeds with water.

Massage on the scalp after oiling the hair and leave it for one hour before washing.Repeat it every morning for a month.

Make a paste by mixing two eggs, two tablespoons each of amla, reetha and shikakai powder. Massage on the scalp and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo. Repeat it for 3-4 times a week.

For thicker and healthier hair, steep 1/2 cup rosemary leaves in 1 cup water. Add the infusion to 1/2 bottle of your favorite shampoo and wash once a day.Rosemary promotes thicker, healthier hair by unclogging pores and hair follicles, and also adds great shine. Rosemary tea, drank once per day, promotes better circulation and also aids in better hair growth. To prevent frizziness, apply a frizz aid product and let hair air dry.

Take headbath weekly twice.

Grind hibiscus leaves and apply on hair, allow it for 20-30

minutes and then take headbath. Do this weekly twice.

Mix egg white, plus a spoon of coconut oil, mix well and leave it hair for 30 mts and then take bath. Do this weekly once/twice.

Diet is vital for healthy thick hair. Make sure you eat plenty of fish, nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables and eggs. Avoid pollution and stress. Take a vitamin E supplement

Boil a few hibiscus flowers in coconut oil. Filter and use it.

Combine coconut milk with lemon juice proportionately and apply to your hair. Leave it for half an hour and wash it. Wash your hair with mild shampoos. Prefer herbal shampoos.

Massage on the scalp after oiling the hair and leave it for one hour before washing. Repeat it every morning for a month.

Why is it, when you get older, you lose your hair on top and it grows more and thick in your ears an

Roots!

Actually it has to do with changes in hormones and aging of cells.

Getting my hair healthier?

ok so i really want my hair thicker.and stronger.i lose so much hair everyday.like a huge hair ball.and i was wondering if something could help.and i was thinking maybe a home produced?or maybe some kind of shampoo.

Getting my hair healthier?

I have the same problem too. My causes are genetics and stress. I tried several products but they don't work. Unfortunately most of them will only "conditioned" and make your hair "thicker," which in reality they weigh down your hair and your hair falls off due to heaviness.

I recommend eating right rather than using products. Foods rich in selenium is good. I heard that eating a little bit of black beans everyday helps too. I never tried it though b/c I don't have time to cook it everyday...

Getting my hair healthier?

Use sauve, its cheap; but it does the job

Getting my hair healthier?

settle down. nervousness can make your hair fall out!

Getting my hair healthier?

Actually Mane and Tail is really good for healthy strong hair but if you want your hair to grow try some OTC hair pills. Wal-Mart has these and they are relatively cheap. I promise I use to take them all the time and they really do work. However, you will need to go through one bottle and on your second you will be amazed at how fast your hair grows. Good luck!

Getting my hair healthier?

Try washing hair in morning then go face the world. Wash it again at night before you go to bed too.. keep up this routing for 2 weeks see if that helps... on weekends try wearing a hair net?? to keep it all together...

Getting my hair healthier?

Most of the strength for the body and its parts comes from within. Have good nutrition, eat at right times, drink lots of water, get good sleep, exercise daily, do not take acidic foods, etc. That should take care of all the problems related to hair, muscle weakness, etc.

If all the above are being followed, check that the water you bath with doesn't have too many chemicals (some areas have underground water polluted) or change your shampoo. Shampoos are the biggest hair thinners, believe me.

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I

I am an african-american woman and my hair's length is past my shoulders. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo, and afterwards I use a detangling conditioner and comb it through and i always end up with tons of hair in the comb, long strands. Can somebody tell me why this is happening or what I can do to minimize so much hair falling/shedding? Also, a week after I wash it, it starts to shed long strands, probably 50 hairs a day, is this normal and why does it start happening approximetly 7 days after I wash it? I am in desperate need, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo..

Other factors to consider: What kinds of projucts are you using? Are you using professional grade products? Have you had your hair color treated or relaxed? Are you applying high heat to your hair excessively? You might want to consult a stylist. As an african american woman, I am familiar with the shedding as well. People naturally shed hair everyday and if you are washing every two weeks that's why you are seeing so much in your comb. When you comb everyday you are probably more gentle with your hair than when you wash because you are combing out knots and so forth. I would recommend that you wash about once a week. Two weeks is too long and use a good detangling shampoo or conditioner because you shouldnt be straining or pulling on your hair so hard. Also, I wrap my hair every night before bed because the friction from your hair on your pillow and you moving around causes breakage as well. Also be mindful that stress, and improper diet can also contribute to hair loss.

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo..

This is very normal. I lose a lot of hair too in the shower.

Wow, every two weeks? Hmmm....whether it needs it or not?

Every 2 weeks seems like an abnormally long period of time.

On the days you don't wash, are you tying it up extremely tight into cornrows or anything like that? Sometimes I've seen black women with hair pulled so tight that it looks like it's going to pop right out of their head. If you're doing that, you could be damaging the hair.

If it's not that, then it could just be that because you go so long between washings, there's just more hair there to shed. All women with long hair shed a bit when they wash, but if you do it more often it doesn't seem like so much each time.

I'd take a look at your scalp and see if it looks like patches are balding or anything like that. If not, then I wouldn't worry. Just don't tie it up so tight (if you are) and wash more often, like every 2-3 days.

don't listen to ignorants! Yes, this is normal (%26amp; I'm Caucasian). Talk to an african-american woman; she will confirm that it is normal %26amp; provide guidance.

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo..

this has happened to me before and my hair stylist said it was the lack of moisture. your hair is probably very dry. i suggest that you use a deep moisturizing conditioner and oil your scalp every 2 to 3 days and then let me kno what happens.

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo..

its normal to lose upto 100 strands of hair per combing. 1st of all u need to wash ur hair more frequently. the effect of detangling conditioner cannot last for 2 weeks so by the time u wash and comb ur hair again,ur hair has already been dry and under-nourished. 2 weeks is also enough to allow sweat and ur natural hair oil to clog ur scalp pores not allowing the skin to breathe. apart from washing ur hair more, at least once or twice a week, comb it everyday coz combing stimulates ur scalp and increases blood supply in the head. this is good for nourishing ur hair.

wash ur hair more often idk lol

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo..

The average person loses about 100 hairs a day.

Do you lose enough hair to clog the drain? Are there any thin spots on your scalp?

1] comb hair before washing

2] wet hair, and apply 25-50 cent size of shampoo. Rub together on palms, and apply to scalp. Scrub your scalp, not your hair. Rinse well.

3] apply 25-50 cents size of conditioner to hair, not scalp. Massage into hair gently. Rinse well.

4] blot dry with towel - no rubbing - wet hair is fragile!

5] comb through with wide tooth comb

6] be sure to wash all combs, brushes, etc. about once a month

7] use a deep conditioner once-twice a month

8] avoid blow dryers, straighteners, irons, etc until hair is in better shape

9] eat a quality diet - lean protein, low fat dairy, whole grains, lots of fruits and vegetables

10] drink 1/2 gallon of water a day

11] avoid fried, fast, and junk food - even diet junk food

12] take a quality multivitamin with minerals every day

It's normal. Don't worry. Unless you are noticeably thinning, don't worry. Our hair sheds each and every day. If you wear your hair natural, curly, or in braids, the hairs that we shed that normally fall onto our clothes or get caught in our brushes/combs, etc. get stuck in the curls/braids. So when you shampoo your hair and actually "free" all those hairs that have been caught in your curls/braids, while it may be a fist full of hair, it's not as if it's fallen out all of a sudden. It's the hair that has accumulated over 2 weeks. If the average shedding is 100 strands per day multiply that by 14 days. That's a lot of hair! lol I suggest either changing to shampooing your hair once a week and every 2 weeks follow your shampoo with a deep conditiong treatment, or sticking with 2 week intervals but using some hair dressing or protective oil daily to restore moisture. I am caucasian but I do a lot of african-american hair. So while I don't experience it myself, I know for the most part what I'm talking about. Hope this put your mind at ease and I hope my suggestions help!!!

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo..

Wash your hair every day like proper hygiene dictates, and you won't have 2 weeks worth of shedding happen all at once. If I waited 2 weeks to clip my nails then I would have huge nail clippings, wouldn't I?

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo..

Hi. I used to lose a lot of hair after shampooing too until I changed my shampoo. Take a look at the ingredients in your shampoo. If it contains sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate, or soap (sometimes listed as saponified oil of ....) you might be using a shampoo that is too harsh for your hair. If your shampoo is too harsh, it can cause hair damage. Look for a shampoo without these ingredients, and that is made for dry hair. You didn't say how you are wearing your hair (natural, relaxed, braided, etc.) If you have a chemical treatment in your hair it might also contribute to the hair loss you are experiencing. It is normal to lose up to 100 hairs a day. However, if you think you are losing too much hair, maybe you are combing or brushing it too vigorously also. Avoid brushing, and use a wide tooth comb or your fingers to gently go through your hair.

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo..

it is normal to loose an average of 100 hairs a day. you need to brush and shampoo more frequently

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo..

I had the same problem. You need to brush your hair more often, I know that can be a problem for some hair styles, but it needs to be done. You need more protein. Since you wash your hair every 2 weeks, you should put a protein pack on. Or you can wash your hair with an egg (if you do that then make sure you're washing your hair in cool water)!

Your hair is falling out because you are not stimulating your scalp on a regular bases. That's not an old wives tale about brushing your hair 100 times everyday before you go to bed. If you brush your hair every night, for at least 2 minutes, the next time you wash your hair, you will find that less to no hair will fall out.

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo..

a human normally looses 80-100 hairs a day. You should use a high quality boar bristle brush DAILY to release these trapped/ shedding hairs. And always brush right before you shampoo. This daily brushing will also allow you to distribute the natural oils from your scalp. Which will condition your hair, as from proffesional experience african amer hair is somewhat dry. Also the brushing stimulates the blood flow to the scalp allowing for healthier growth of hair. Two weeks is quite a while to go, even with african hair. Id suggest using a milder shampoo and try shampooing 1 time a week for a month or two, see if this helps.

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo..

It is pretty normal. You probably use a lot of product during the two weeks. That makes your hair kind of dry, and as you're washing it it breaks off. Don't worry you wont go bald!

I am an african-american woman. I wash my hair every 2 weeks and I always lose a lot of hair while I shampoo..

Losing this much hair is normal so don't worry. The reason you're seeing as much as you are is because everyone sheds hair daily and the only way most people get it out is to brush it daily....so if you're waiting 2 weeks to wash, comb, and condition your hair your just seeing 2 weeks of hair loss at one time....so don't worry....

First you need to used a shampoo for African-American woman's. Go to the beauty store not wal-mart. Sally's is a good place to start. Look for shampoo that gives good and strong health hair growth. Surge is a good formulated to reduce split ends and breakages.

Here's some useful info:

relaxers damage hai. Because of relaxers you must take VERRRRY good care of your hair if you want it to grow. If you don't, your hair will grow, but BREAK off so it looks like it's staying the same forever.

Okay, here is my advice, I know a lot about hair care so this might sound crazy but you can either take my advice or not grow your hair.

First of all, keep your hair moisturized. This is as simple as wetting it in the shower, or wetting your hands and running them through your hair. DO NOT buy any moisturizer that has MINERAL OIL or PETROLATUM!

2)use a wide tooth comb(SPARINGLY!!!) to avoid hairs breaking.

3)Wash your hair AT LEAST!!!!! once a week with shampoo. I wash mine with JUST conditioner sometimes too.

4)after shampooing, DEEP CONDITION by putting condish on your hair and putting a plastic cap over it and leaving it on for 15-30 minutes

5)massage your scalp daily

6)do not put any oils or "grease" on your scalp.

When are persions soppose to loose there ear hair?

i have a year old persion and she hasn't lost her ear hair is this normal?

When are persions soppose to loose there ear hair?

What??? They DON'T lose their ear hair - that's how Persians look! It's totally normal for them to have long hairs coming out of their ears. Please don't try to clip it or pull it or anything like that - that's how they are!!!

FYI there's actually a word for it - it's called ear "furnishings" - isn't that funny????

PS: Mariam - you're wrong. Both males and females have ear furnishings.

When are persions soppose to loose there ear hair?

you mean a Persian cat? they don't, that is one of the beauty's of the breed. DLH's %26amp; maincoon's, forrests, Himmys too

When are persions soppose to loose there ear hair?

yes,all the persian cats r like this in males and not in females...that's normal, don't worry!!it will even continue to grow more!!

When are persions soppose to loose there ear hair?

I have a persian and they don't lose their ear hair.

When are persions soppose to loose there ear hair?

Persian cat or not, all cats have ear hair.

Believe it or not, but the hair helps them hear.

The movement of their hair causes vibrations and helps them hear -- which is why cats have better hearing than humans. Wonder how well we'd hear if we had ear hair? ;-)

Do you think balding male hair stylists lose interest in their work and go bowling instead?

Can you tie the two together? Best answer gets 10 points.

Do you think balding male hair stylists lose interest in their work and go bowling instead?

That explains my barber's insistence on putting his two fingers in my eye sockets and his thumb in my nose every time I get a touch-up!

Do you think balding male hair stylists lose interest in their work and go bowling instead?

Possibley, but probally not because they need money, right?

Do you think balding male hair stylists lose interest in their work and go bowling instead?

no way!!! The bowling balls will only remind them of the loss of their luxirious locks and reduce them to tears. The same is true of fuzzy car dice {{the reason has yet to be understood}}.. The balding male hair stylist in question is far more likely to start a wig buisness and fulfil their dream of modeling by personally being photographed in every wig he sells.

Do you think balding male hair stylists lose interest in their work and go bowling instead?

I dunno. I've been to one that did hair at a mall ok., but he would have been better off, in the long run, to trade in his clippers and capes for a bowling ball...if you "get my drift."

Do you think balding male hair stylists lose interest in their work and go bowling instead?

nope, my stylist tim just shaved it all off.

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

Because my mom thinks I'm going to lose all my hair if I do that. Or burn it out or something.

You see, my friend straightens her hair every day. And her hair doesn't look damaged to me.

Please anwser. :)

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

Usually it depends on the type of hair you have. For example, if you have thin hair, most likely your hair is more easily damaged. Thicker hair tends to be less damaged by products; however, either way, it is going to get damaged if you expose a high amount of heat to it.

HOWEVER, now companies have made products such as the V05 Hair Protection line (approximately 5 dollars per product). This will temporarily protect your hair from damage.

Just as a clarification, usually if you do expose your hair to a high amount of heat it will be damaged; but not necessarily lossing hair. Basically, the main consequences are: breakage, split ends, and etc. So remember to keep your hair healthy if you are going to straighten/curl your hair!

Good luck! =]

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

Eventually, yes.

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

i'm pretty sure that no girl wud straighten her hair if that's true, so i think its ok for u to straighten everyday

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

You most likely wont as long as you use a heat protecting product. good luck and you might want to use a moisturizing shamppo and conditioner!

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

It can damage your hair and cause dead/spilt ends , more if you do it every day. I still straighten or curl mine everyday thoguh. Just get your hair trimed every month and you will be fine.

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

I think a couple times a week will be okay. My friend also used to straighten her hair EVERYDAY. It is really not healthy for your hair. Though it's better if you have some shampoo that helps or something. You can look...it's one that you use if you straighten your hair im not sure what it's called. But a few times a week's okay.

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

i straighten my hair almost every day and my hair is healthy bc i use sunsilk

DONT DO IT WHEN UR HAIRS WET

and dont hold the straightener in one place for like a minute do it for like 10seconds per strand....

good luck

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

listen to your mother.

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

I dont do either one, but my best friend has curly hair and she starightens it every other day and her hair looks really bad and broken. low heat might help, i know some hair driers have a 'cool' button. When i do have to dry my hair i use that.

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

Twice a week shouldn't be that hard on your hair...

It does depend how hot you set you straightener/curler and your hair type, I suppose.

Also it is easier on your hair if you apply some sort of product beforehand...It should help protect your hair from the heat.

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

i straighten my hair everyday and my mom says the same thing but i just get dead ends and when i get my hair trimmed its perfectly healthy

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

Im sure it will eventually unless you put certain protectants to help sheild it from the heat

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

no. if you use heat protection then you will be fine. and use aussie.

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

first of all your friend should not be straightening her hair every day because it will eventually damage it. To answer your question yes you can definitely straighten and curl your hair twice a week as long as you use a good shampoo and conditioner.Suggestions for shampoo/conditioner are John Freida "Straight Ahead shampoo" and for conditioner Matrix "Sleek Look".Good luck!

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

If you are going to do that I recommend taking hair stimulator viatmins, not only do they make your hair grow they make your hair very strong and healthy, they are all natural and full of amino acids, this will help a lot if you are going to do that often

Is your hair going to have major damge if you straighten/curl it twice a week?

You need to use a heat protecting spray. Since you either want to straighten or curl it, get Sunsilk ThermaShine spray. What you do is spray it into your damp hair and it protects from the heat of a blowdryer, straightener and curling iron, all while making your hair shiny :)

Is there a tried and true method for thickening hair, beyond those so-called "illustrious"

I just want a thicker head of hair. I'm not LOSING any, it just isn't thick to begin with. Any pointers?

Is there a tried and true method for thickening hair, beyond those so-called "illustrious" shampoos?

sorry, but thickness of hair is generally a matter of genetics. either you have it or you don楹搕. there are lots of things you can put in your hair to make it appear thicker (usually have the word "volumizing" on them) but nothing is really going to make your hair thicker.

Loss of hair?

Since once month i lose a lot of hair and they became "electrically". I have very long straight hair and wear them as ponytail. I use stinging nettle shampoo once the week.

Any advice how to stop that hair loss?

Thanks for all answers and help.

Loss of hair?

you need to stop straightening or blow drying or curling them if you do that. this is a major cause in hair loss. Also, if you got a perm, your hair is flowing with chemicals and that could cause hair to fall out. If it isnt any reason related to electricity or perms or anything then it is probably genetic. I know this sounds pretty nasty but natural coconut oil for hair-you can find it in any store just ask for hair oil- it makes your hair strong and lessens hair loss.

Loss of hair?

heat styling or chemically styling if u do that stuff stop and there is a special shampoo
